Sometimes, the best moments are the ones that aren’t meticulously planned

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful family for a last-minute holiday portrait session. With three kids, the session was a delightful mix of spontaneity, patience, and plenty of laughter.

What made this session truly special was the way the family embraced the experience. The 2 younger ones needed a few candy breaks to keep the energy high and smiles flowing—proof that sometimes a little sugar is the secret ingredient to happy portraits! Meanwhile, the teenager, despite being self-conscious about his hair, shared some genuine moments that captured his personality perfectly. It’s in these unscripted interactions that the most authentic, heartfelt photos are born.

Even with last-minute planning and the unpredictability of kids, the results are always worth it. The smiles, the laughter, and the connections frozen in time are gifts that will be treasured long after the holidays are over.

So, to all those families who may feel like they’ve missed their chance—there’s always room for one more memory. The most magical moments are often the least expected.
